This HK Exemplar features a black finished, partially serrated clip point blade and a machined black G-10 handle.The HK Knives Exemplar offers superb Ergonomics and a lightweight, easy to carry build. It comes outfitted in a solid G-10 handle with unique textured patches for a superior grip. The blade is made from 154CM stainless steel profiled and ground to provide plenty of working edge. This tactical folder is fully ambidextrous for comfortable right or left handed use.154CM blade steel offers improved edge retention and wear resistance. Contoured G-10 handles textured for a no-slip grip. Fully ambidextrous build with dual thumb studs, pivot lock, and reversible pocket clip.

I'm a fan of the lock, I always wanted a Hogue, and I wanted a knife to match my other HK gear. This knife fills out all criteria quite nicely. That said, I'm disappointed now that I've had some time with it. I've notice there is some blade play that only disappears when i crank the pivot all the way down, but that makes it extremely difficult to open and close knife. I have kives from all mid range makers and this exemplar with its agressive blade shape and hogue g-10 handles is very well fit and comfortable in the hand.IMO they have improved upon the old axis lock and made it smoother.The knife is easy to open and close one handed and will free fall closed and has no blade play at all.

This was my first HK knife purchase and I am more than thrilled! The quality of the knife and quick shipping made a great impression on me. The knife itself came razor sharp and the lock up is perfect. I will definitely be looking towards HK products in the future.
