This is my first OTF and first Microtech and I have to say I'm impressed. The blade is great, the firing action is smooth and quick, I love the slim profile of the knife as well. painful for your thumb to keep doing it. Look Microtech I get why you did this, but I feel like you could've done a way better job finding a nice balance between safety and ease of use for the toggle switch, especially for $300. The knife becoming physically unbearable for your thumbs to deploy after 3-4 times is a huge problem for a self-defense scenario. So unless you wear tactical gloves wherever you go I can't recommend carrying this as an EDC. Fix the super aggressive jimping on your toggle switch and you got a very solid OTF.

You will feel like a modern-day Samurai carrying this half-serrated tanto. This knife looks great and It snaps out hard EVERY time. The half-serrated blade gives this knife a lot of versatility. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality OTF.

First I bought a replica from wish.com and fell in love with the Microtech aesthetic, function, and appeal. Sadly that wish.com example perpetuated and broke internally within 2 weeks. After buying a REAL Microtech, I can honestly say it's miles above, and I'm super happy with my purchase. I got this knife about 2 years ago from my beautiful wife. It was my edc even after I lost her to Cancer I carried it everyday. One day I was in a terrible car accident and it saved my life in everything from the cutting of my seatbelt, to the use of the glass breaker on the window. Sadly it was damaged, and when I mailed it in was told it could not be repaired and that kind of… read more damage voided the warranty. So I wrote Tony a message explaining it's importance to me. Believe it or not they gave me a new $330.00 knife for free and still paid extra care in mailing my old one that ment so much back to me. There are no words except that the owner of this company is a great man, and if anyone is to invest in a quality higher end knife, it is my opinion that the only thing that could be better than the craftsmanship of this company is the character of it's workers and their unrelenting care and compassion in dealing with it's costumer's. I for one could never thank them enough, and one day hopefully soon will have enough to get my Grail knife from them being a marifone custom Halo 5 or 6 mirror polished tanto tipped with a Albany inlay garnished with some type of mammoth bone, and cast from bohler m390. Set with a dragon scale inlay. I'd call it the ice age halo, might sound dumb to some of you but it was something me and mare bear came up with, and think Tony is the one to one day bring it to fruition, sorry for the book and thanks for reading. Nothing but good to say about this knife! Very sharp out of the box and holds an edge the way a good knife should. It did need to be cleaned and oiled so the function of the knife was 100%, but that is normal for anything. I am sad to say I have lost this knife and was very sad about it, but I replaced it with a new one with 204P and I am just as happy. Sure hope I find my old one.… read more

This one came is so stiff that it was nearly unusable. Took some serious cleaning, polishing, and work to get this tolerable.For a $300+ product I expected WAY better than this. I have no intention of purchasing another Microtech. I'll look elsewhere for the next ones.

I'm very happy with my Ultratech, the bronze looks great with the black handle, the knife is light and the pocket clip is sturdy. The action is smooth and the blade pops out with no issues whatsoever, sharp right out of the box worth every penny.

Wasn't sure if this was gonna be worth the price tag but boy was I wrong! a collector piece. Was not expecting to receive one from the 08/2017 run! Packaging is great, came with a cert of authenticity, soft case and the whole Marfione custom works. The bead is made of .925 Silver and a lot bigger than I expect! Thank you DLT!

I got this about 6 months ago as a Xmas present. It is my favorite knives I have ever owned. It is also my highest end knife as most of my collection doesn't go above $150 folders. deployment and withdrawal. The ergonomic handle fits nicely in the hand, is just grippy enough to provide a sturdy hold but not so grippy that it wears on your palm or is too difficult to get in and out of your pocket.
That being said, the thumb slide on this knife was brutally stiff to operate at first, and I initially second-guessed my purchase. My unaccustomed thumbs were punished as opening and closing this knife proved to be a challenge, especially with one hand. The good news is IT WILL GET EASIER OVER TIME. You pay twice for this knife - once with your money, and again with your patience. Just try to use it often before you resort to oiling or disassembling it (which voids the warranty.)
Plus, there is no safety lock on this knife, so the action requiring a good amount of force to trigger in either direction is a GOOD thing. And if you are worried about impaling your own leg on accident, there is a derailing system that will stop the blade action if it pushes against something before fully deploying.
As for the dagger-style blade, it's not as versatile as your standard drop point since you can't press your thumb against it. You can certainly still get good usage out of it, but let's be honest - it's more of a self-defense tool than anything. That being said, it's a blast to show off, fidget with, and use for generic daily knife stuff (just with more caution than a single-edged blade.) And let me tell you, it is VERY sharp out of the box.
With all of this being said, if you're looking to EDC an OTF for a wider variety of tasks, I'd go with the base model drop point. If you're looking for a nasty, quick-to-deploy defensive blade as your second pocket companion, I'd carry this alongside your trusty folder - which is exactly what I do.

I just received a new Ultra tech and am almost sorry I opened it. After firing it a few times, I checked the blade and found that I could move it in all four directions. A sure enough is a snazzy OTF auto. However when I first got it I couldn't resist hitting it with a few drops of oil. That seemed to bog down the blade; it lost its JUMP! It would'nt come out or only a couple inches out. So I blow-dried the oil out that I had put in. I believe it was Blue Lube. Afterwards it got back to working fine. To be fair---I did call/email? Microtech (I keep thinking it was Ultra tech but have stored the knife in a vault and don't access it much. Too little time) at the height of the COVID SCARE so maybe there was noone in their offices. But still, I never heard back from them. Maybe I'll try again today.
All-in-all a pretty sweet OTF when it's working correctly. One last issue: The push button is quite hard to push forward. Another reason for the early oiling.

This knife is awesome. The action is a little stiff at first but it loosens the more you play with it. The blade steel is listed as Elmax but came as CTS 204p, which is fine because I prefer 204p. The bronze finish is beautiful. If you can get it, get it.

The handle is a richer emerald green than the pictures suggest. The weathering is more elaborate as well and is coated so you can't feel it. Blade is extremely sharp out of the box. As with all Microtechs, it bangs open and closed with authority.

razor sharp, and I mean that literally. The first time I cut through an Amazon package the knife pass through so easily it barely touched my finger with the tip - not enough to draw blood, surely, wrong it passed through the skin like it wasn't even there.
Only downside is the effort to push the ejector button, the step grading on the slide hurt my thumb for the first few days and I needed to build up hand strength to activate it.
I love they engrave the month and year on the pocket clip. This knife will be passed down in my family for generations, I'm sure grandchildren yet unborn will pass it on to their kids and marvel at '08/2020'..

This is my first OTF and I have since purchased a couple of budget double-action OTFs. While some of the budget sub-$100 double-action OTFs have a good action and feel, the build quality and materials of the Ultratech definitely put it in a different tier. I love the "speckly" stonewash finish too.

First Microtech Ultratech. The action is smooth and hard. The satin finish on the handle is a dream, although I cant imagine it holding up on drops on hard floor. The glass breaker is something I know want in all my knives. Only minor issues is that the edge was not as sharp as I expected. Also not sure about if sharpening it myself will give me warranty issues.

The blade was just free floating inside the handle with no resistance. There was also no resistance on the trigger. Fixed it by pulling the blade out until it locked into place again. Still give 5 stars as its a common problem with OTF knives. Didnt expect this kind of problem but its an easy fix.

This was a grail knife for me and I finally pulled the trigger. Dlt got this knife to me in 2 days flat!!! The knife is built perfectly and sharper than a razor blade right out of the box. The ease of one handed operation in a small package is an awesome combination. ok , so ordered this knife and bladehq got it out to me quick. I was impressed by the blade geometry of the knife and the close machine tolerances of Microtech and it functioned perfectly however the edge wasnt quite as sharp as i preferred. So a sharpened it on a wetstone to put a better finished edge on it. Looking at pictures and videos I thought it might be a little chunkier or cheaper feeling but it's not. A slim design that has a heft to it that makes it feel sturdy without being too weighty. The Microtech Ultratech is a classic OTF that has been in and out of my EDC for well over a year. And everyday that I've carried it, I always have a smile. This was my first OTF and I was not disappointed. I tried other OTFs by other brands, but this knife, in my opinion, had them beat in form, function and action.
I never had any issues with this knife. No misfires and a good trigger. Build quality is great. Blade was sharp!

Quality of this knife is super. Only issue I have was it's supposed to be double edged. Only one edge is sharp & if I don't send it back to Microtech to get sharpened it voids warranty .... & costs me $30....

I didn't think I would love this knife this much but I am selling all my other knifes as I don't see a reason to have them anymore. Microtech for Life!

This knife is a must in any collection. It comes razor sharp, almost zero side to side play in the blade, and I highly recommend the Hellhound style. When you engage the action, its like racking a shotgun. There is no mistaking the sound of a Microtech knife.
