This Ultratech features a double-edged dagger blade with a black finish and a fully serrated edge. It has a contoured, black anodized 6061-T6 aluminum handle with a bead blast finished pocket clip, glass breaker, and stainless steel hardware. Microtech equipped this version of the ever popular Ultratech D/A OTF knife with a smooth, contoured handle design that promotes increased comfort during use. This updated MODel provides the same dimensions, hardware, and durability offered by the "Tri-Grip" variation, but goes easier on the hands and pockets. For those unfamiliar with the Ultratech, it's a fully automatic knife with a double-action out-the-front mechanism, meaning the thumb slide deploys the blade and retracts it as well. The Ultratech knife from Microtech has set the bar for All OTF Knives. Check out our comprehensiveMicrotech Ultratech Review to see what makes this OTF so great!

First Microtech
Expensive but worth the price. Not worried about any accidental firing when carried in my pant pocket. The trigger is stiff. Takes some effort to fire & retract the blade. Need to build some thumb muscle & callus. A little painful operating the trigger right now. No problems when wearing a glove. Like the glass breaker feature.
Playing with the new knife. Something happened.…

The blade was just free floating inside the handle with no resistance. There was also no resistance on the trigger. Fixed it by pulling the blade out until it locked into place again. Still give 5 stars as its a common problem with OTF knives. Didnt expect this kind of problem but its an easy fix.
1st OTF
So I've hesitated to get one of these because of the $ but glad I chose this model as it's excellent quality, solid built, works very smooth/exacting. The ease of one handed operation in a small package is an awesome combination. Blade arrived super sharp and the switch to open/close requires enough force to make me feel comfortable carrying it most anyway/anywhere you'd like. Tested… read more to see how much force it has if it were to accidentally deploy and blade goes limp if it hits something semi solid before being completely extended. Great purchase, if you're in doubt just get one.
Perfect work knife
Microtech is like the gold standard when it comes to otf knives and this one is excellent to say the least. The spring is a monster and will take some strong thumb muscles to use it regularly Im fact the spring is so strong i never worry about this going off in my pocket. As expected there is a microscopic amount of blade play. I was blown away at how solid the blade is. As with… read more all save the deadlock has some blade play but I can say that I have other otf knives and this is hands down the best. It is a chunk of money for sure but it is worth it. If these knives were legal to carry I know for a fact everyone would have a microtech for a knife
