About Microtech Ultratech Hellhound Tanto OTF Knife Black G-10 (3.4" Bronze SW)
This Ultratech features a Hellhound tanto blade with a bronze stonewashed finish and a plain cutting edge. It has a contoured, black anodized 6061-T6 aluminum handle with a textured black G-10 front scale. The knife has bronzed hardware, glass breaker, and a bronzed pocket clip with the Marfione dagger. Microtech equipped this version of the ever popular Ultratech D/A OTF knife with a smooth, contoured handle design that promotes increased comfort during use. This updated MODel provides the same dimensions, hardware, and durability offered by the "Tri-Grip" variation, but goes easier on the hands and pockets. For those unfamiliar with the Ultratech, it's a fully automatic knife with a double-action out-the-front mechanism, meaning the thumb slide deploys the blade and retracts it as well. ok , so ordered this knife and bladehq got it out to me quick. I was impressed by the blade geometry of the knife and the close machine tolerances of Microtech and it functioned perfectly however the edge wasnt quite as sharp as i preferred. So a sharpened it on a wetstone to put a better finished edge on it. Shortly after sharpening i attempted to work the action and the blade… read more wouldnt come out. tried cleaning and oiling it. still wouldnt function properly. bottom line imo this is an expensive letter opener not to be exposed to even the lightest amount of dust or dirt. lesson learned. Back to my trusty fixed blades and folders.
